What’s Next

The Assignment —

In my first class at Auburn University, “Intro to Hospitality” our semester project was: “Shadow a Business Professional in the Hospitality Industry.” Just as in life, anything worth doing, is worth doing to the best of your ability — and I wasn’t going to settle for the status quo.

I knew I was here for ultra-luxury boutique hotels, so I drew a 300-mile radius around Auburn University looking for businesses and one place sparked my interest. With a love for the mountains, Blackberry Farm it was. I took out a pen and paper and starting writing a letter to Blackberry Farm explaining who I was and what I wanted to do.

Two months later, I spent 2-days at what I would easily consider “Tennessee’s Best Kept Secret” learning the ins and outs. To say I fell in love with Blackberry Farm would be an understatement. I knew that no matter what it would take, my relationship with Blackberry Farm was far from over and I was determined to make my way back.

The Foothills — The Farm of the South

As life would have it, in order to finish my degree, an internship was to be completed. Once again the pen and paper came out and a letter was drafted to that farm I fell in love with. In the summer of 2019 I found myself back at Blackberry and what would start as an internship would eventually make me a forever member of the Blackberry Family where I continued to learn and grow, all the while delivering world-class hospitality, proving that there is no greater asset in life than faith and belief in yourself..

Today — The Farm of the North

Sometimes, the best things in life, you never saw coming, and Twin Farms was exactly that. Deep within the lush Vermont flora, on a 300-acre plot where two farms became one for the lives of two of America’s greatest writers, Ms. Dorothy Thompson and Mr. Sinclair Lewis, has now become “The #1 Resort in the World” and the place I now call home. The philosophy of Twin Farms and that of my own could not be more aligned. Because of our aligned philosophies, Twin Farms has entrusted me in leading, mentoring and coaching a world-class team. I look forward to the new challenges to come and welcome them with open arms as we continue to encompass that hospitable spirit and creating moments that last a lifetime.

I’ve believed in my dream when no one else did, and that’s what ambition is — risking it all for a dream only you can see. With a relentless desire to succeed, you really can achieve anything in this world, and I’ve only just begun.
